Perhaps the most interesting feature it has to offer is the Lunar Occultation Workbench (LOW) software program. This freeware program allows you to calculate predictions of occultations by the Moon of the 8 major planets and the 53.879 stars listed in the XZ94D star catalogue. Both total and grazing occultations can be calculated for any location on Earth for any period between 4000 BC and 8000 AD. In addition you can efficiently record your observations. They can be exported and sent of to the International Lunar Occultation Centre (ILOC) or to your local coordinator. Further it offers you figures displaying the Moon and the star/planet at the moment of occultation, views of the Moon's limb, a reaction time tester, etc., etc. LOW is a 32-bits Windows-based (95 or NT) program requiring at least a 486 (+ co-processor) or higher PC, at least 8 MB of RAM and 13 MB of diskspace for the standard version. On a Pentium II 266 MHz it takes just over 1 minute to produce the predictions for 1 year for a 25 cm (10") telescope using the default settings. In my case that gives me over 2.500 predictions! I hope that many of you find LOW to your liking! Kind regards, Eric Limburg Dutch Occultation Association Go to the software site
